Master Ajay’s philosophy is clear: perfecting the drill is everything. The right tools make every drill safer, more precise and more productive.

01

Boxing / MMA Gloves

Protect the hands and wrists so you can strike with full intention. Without proper gloves the fear of injury limits power and volume.

Why it matters: You can only perfect a combination if you are willing to throw it hundreds of times. Gloves make that volume possible.
02

Hand Wraps

Stabilize the small bones of the hand and support the wrist. They are the first layer of protection before gloves even go on.

Why it matters: Consistent wrapping becomes a ritual of readiness. It also dramatically reduces the risk of long-term hand injuries.
03

Heavy Bags

The primary tool for power, conditioning and combination endurance. A good bag does not move too easily and gives honest feedback.

Why it matters: Bags teach you to hit through a target and to keep your structure under fatigue — exactly what drills are meant to build.
04

Focus Pads / Mitts

Live targets held by a coach. They develop accuracy, timing, distance and the ability to react to a moving partner.

Why it matters: Pads are where technique meets timing. They bridge the gap between static bag work and live sparring.
05

Grappling Mats

A safe, clean surface for takedowns, ground work and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Quality mats absorb impact and allow technical drilling at speed.

Why it matters: Fear of hard landings kills technical development. Good mats remove that fear so students can explore positions fully.
06

Karlakattai & Mudgar

Traditional Indian clubs swung in precise circular patterns. They build grip, forearms, shoulders, core and rotational power.

Why it matters: Modern gyms often neglect rotational strength and end-range control. These tools fill that gap and improve posture at the same time.
07

Shin Guards

Allow full-power kicking drills and controlled sparring without constant bruising. Essential for kickboxing and MMA progression.

Why it matters: Students who are afraid of shin checks never fully commit to kicks. Guards remove that barrier so technique can be refined.
08

Mouthguard

Protects teeth, jaw and reduces the risk of concussion in any contact work. Non-negotiable once intensity rises.

Why it matters: Safety equipment is not optional. It is what allows the academy to keep intensity honest without unnecessary risk.
09

Skipping Rope

Simple, brutal and effective. Builds footwork, rhythm, calf strength, endurance and coordination in minutes.

Why it matters: Many of the best strikers in history treated the rope as sacred. It teaches the body to stay light and timed.
10

Resistance Bands & Mobility Tools

Used for activation, shoulder health, hip mobility and recovery work that keeps students training consistently.

Why it matters: Longevity is part of the Yhodha method. Tools that keep joints healthy are as important as tools that build power.

Most equipment is provided at the academy. We recommend personal gloves and wraps for hygiene and better fit. Ask us for guidance when you start.
