Yhodha Combat Martial Arts

A modern combat academy in the heart of Hyderabad where ancient discipline meets real-world skill. Founded in 2017 by Master Ajay Kumar Jeja.

Yhodha Combat Martial Arts was born from a simple but powerful decision. Master Ajay Kumar Jeja had completed his Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering. He could have chosen a conventional corporate path. Instead, he chose the path he had been walking since childhood — the path of martial arts.

His own journey began early under the guidance of his master, Sridhar Murugan — a teacher who shaped not only his technique but his philosophy of practice. Through this lineage Master Ajay also carries forward Shaolin-rooted discipline and continuous refinement. Workshop leadership under his systems stretches back to 2004 — over 22 years of continuous teaching. In 2017 he opened the doors of Yhodha Combat Martial Arts in Begumpet, Hyderabad, with a clear mission: to make authentic combat training accessible, structured and transformative for every age and background.

Since then the academy has trained thousands of students (1000+ already under Master Ajay’s direct systems, and a growing academy community across ages). From complete beginners to competition fighters, from working professionals seeking stress relief to women looking for practical self-defense, from children building confidence to adults rediscovering their physical potential — Yhodha has become a second home for many.

Beyond daily classes, Yhodha runs corporate and institutional workshops, Indian and international sessions, and content-driven outreach so the method reaches people who may never walk into a gym unprompted. Contact: info@yhodhacombat.in.

The name “Yhodha” itself means warrior. But at this academy the warrior is not defined by aggression. The warrior is defined by preparation, by the quiet daily work of perfecting every drill, and by the calm confidence that comes from knowing you can protect yourself and those you care about.

Real Instructors

Led by Master Ajay and a team of dedicated coaches who have walked the path themselves. No theoretical teaching — only experience transferred.

02

Small Batches

We deliberately keep batches limited (maximum 15). Every student receives attention. No one is left behind or lost in a crowd.

03

Complete Spectrum

From traditional Shaolin-influenced Kung Fu and Karlakattai to modern MMA, Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — all under one roof.

04

Philosophy First

Master Ajay’s core belief shapes every class: perfect the drill. Sparring is only a test of that preparation. This keeps students safer and more skilled.

05

All Ages Welcome

Kids from 5 years, teenagers, adults, and even seniors. Programs are adapted so every body and every goal finds the right path.

06

Clean, Focused Space

A proper indoor facility with mats, bags, and the tools needed for serious training — without unnecessary distractions.

The Yhodha Method

Most people think martial arts is about fighting. At Yhodha we believe martial arts is about preparation.

Every class begins with deliberate drills — footwork, pad work, bag work, forms, Karlakattai circles, mobility sequences. These are not warm-ups. These are the main event. Master Ajay insists that the quality of a fighter is decided long before any sparring begins. When the body has repeated a movement thousands of times with attention, the movement becomes reliable under pressure.

Sparring and live drills are used as tests, not as the primary teacher. This approach has two powerful results: students progress faster because their foundation is solid, and injury rates stay low because techniques are learned correctly before intensity is added.

As Master Sridhar Murugan teaches: “No martial art is best in itself. It always depends on how you practice it.” Kind of practice matters more than the label on the door — high-repetition quality work, progressive load, and honest feedback.

The same principle applies to traditional tools. Mudgar, Gada and Karlakattai are not exotic add-ons. They are precision instruments for building the rotational strength, grip and posture that modern gym training often neglects. When these tools are combined with striking and grappling, the result is a complete, resilient athlete.

Weekly rhythm (Master Ajay)

Mon–Tue Striking (Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Kung Fu) · Wed Gymnastics · Thu Grappling · Fri Kung Fu + MMA. Special batches include the 40+ Revive program and evening martial arts. Coach Ambadas runs structured morning MMA & Kickboxing; Coach Rajesh leads striking and gymnastics blocks with a multi-national / state championship background.

Competition pathways

Serious students can align with wider structures including United World Wrestling (amateur & pro pathways), MMA and Pankration exposure, Grappling Association of Telangana, WAKO kickboxing pathways, and AMMAT-linked progressions — always grounded first in academy drills.

Whether you come for fitness, self-defense, competition or personal growth, the method remains the same: show up, perfect the drill, trust the process.
